The Lord Provost's Commission on Sustainable Development

In 1997 the Lord Provost of Edinburgh commissioned a year long city wide debate on the issues and opportunities for Sustainable Development in Edinburgh. The debate took the form of a Royal Commission and was hosted by a panel of 15 Commissioners - individuals representing different sectors of the Edinburgh community. A report was produced with 127 recommendations for actively moving towards a more sustainable city.

The EEP Millennium Awards

Between 1999-2001 the ESDP (formerly EEP), in partnership with the Millennium Commission ran the EEP Millennium Awards scheme. This provided grants to individuals within the city to carry out a project which would promote Sustainable Development in the City. Over 80 Awards were made.
